The Pros and Cons of Living Fullerton Dowtown

Living in Downtown can be a loud experience, my bedroom is a few stories above a street, and I can hear some pretty load people on the streets. Fights, yelling matches, happy drunk people. It's all heard at about 2 a.m.

C'mon people! Quiet down a little bit! Learn how to handle it!

But there are a lot of benefits to living Downtown as well. The bus station is right down the street. I can take the MetroLink to Downtown Los Angeles for a very small price. Plus, there is a lot of good entertainment and food to be had. Overall, I am a fan.

If you don't want to live here, you have to visit at the very least. I'm not lying when I say there is something for everyone. Join the craze. Live Fullerton Downtown!

I Gotcha!!! Pizza

In my last post, I mentioned that there is one place in downtown Fullerton where you can get food in the middle of the night. That place is " I Gotcha Pizza." I should know as a live right across the street and see how crowded it can get when people are hungry in the middle of the night.

It's name, "I gotcha" is quite appropriate. If I remember right they charge three dollars for a slice of pizza, a steep price when Costco has bigger, better slices for a lot less. But the people late at night have no other choice. They've been got! Depsite the price, the pzza joint offers a good atmosphere with a patio, big screen t.v.'s, and a laid back feel. The pizza has a distinct flavor and is always hot.

"You Gotacha try it!"

Fullerton Bans Foodtrucks

Judging from my last post you would guess that there is no food truck ban in Downtown Fullerton, but according to one that I stopped by, there is a ban starting at about 10 p.m. every night.

You would think with all the bar patrons and clubbers in DTF throughout the week food trucks could make good money by parking on the streets and selling overpriced, greasy comfort food. But the ban prevents them to park on city streets at that time.

C'mon. Give the drunk people on the weekends something to pass their time for an hour or two, so the alcohol can wear off, and they won't drive home drunk like many do. Plus, late night food is always a good thing.

It appears that there is only one place open for food in the middle of the night in Downtown.

Food Trucks Attract Business to Fullerton

Downtown has some great events for foodies, as they organize food truck events on a weekly basis. My two favorite food trucks so far are "The Lime Truck" and "The Kogi Truck", but there are a lot of tasty treats to indulge in. I recommend the Cranitas Fries from the Lime Truck whenever they stop anyway near Fullerton. Delicious! The cevishe is also world famous ever since the Lime Truck won Best Food Truck on the Food Network.

During the winter in Downtown Fullerton there is one great place to indulge in craft beer and food trucks. It happens every Thursday 5-9:30 p.m. on Commonwealth across from the Fullerton Police Deapartment. This next week they are featuring some yummy sounding options! Slapfish, Dogzilla, Bacon MANia, Chomp Chomp Nation, and Garlic Scapes.

Chistmas Lights!

Christmas is just right around the corner, and we all know what that means! Christmas lights! Downtwon Fullerton has some pretty great neighborhoods when it comes to Christmas lights. The best 'hoods can be found just north of Chapman Avenue.

One signature street even has dozens of blue orbs that hang from trees, but at night they light up and seem to be floating in the air.

But, in my opinion, the best place to see lights is in Yorba Linda, a short drive from Downtown Fullerton.

East Lake Village is a must in Yorba Linda. http://www.landofgraciousliving.com/christmas-lights-in-yorba-linda-2009/

Christmas Market hits DTF

A Christmas Market has taken over the streets of Downtown Fullerton! Somewhere you should go if you want to enter into the holiday spirit!

The festivities started on December 1st when several thousand white lights were added to the trees of Harbor Boulevard and a large "Happy Holidays" decoration was mounted on the bridge under the train tracks as you enter into downtown. But now their is even more holiday spirit as Wilshire has a Christmas fair with crafts, treats, and lights where the former Farmer's Market used to stand.

I encourage you all to drop by and visit Downtown in the coming weeks, there is a lot to do, and a lot of fun decorations!

The Christmas Market opened today (Saturday) to Fullerton residents.
