John and Ken Take to the Streets

Conservative radio commentators, John and Ken, will be supporting the passage of petitions that would recall three Fullerton city council members who did not speak up against the beating of Kelly Thomas several months ago.

The rambunctious KFI hosts will take to the streets tomorrow (Wednesday) from 3 p.m. to 7 p.m. protesting the injustice. The two radio personalities will stage their protest on Highland Avenue, between Amerige and Commonwealth.

In a time when "Occupy Wall Street" protectors protest vague ideas that are more about protesting authority than getting anything done, it is a fresh of breath air to see a protest that actually has a goal behind it.

The radio hosts are attempting to give the councilmen the "political death penalty and remove them from office according to John and Ken's website.

The Matador: A Place for Taco Tuesdays

The Matador Cantina in Fullerton is a great place for students to satisfy their Mexican food cravings on taco Tuesdays. The restaurant on Harbor Boulevard serves up carne asada, pollo, carnitas, and calimari tacos. Delicious.

But the carne asada fries, quesadillas, wings (grilled or traditional), and drinks after 10 o'clock are a must for a good meal at a great price. In fact, everyday of the week "The Matador" has a good deal that is just begging for college students to enjoy.

If you have class on Tuesday nights like me, just head right over! You'll be right on time!

It's All in the Family

Angelos and Vinci's has a back door where a couple of friends can pick up some cheap and tasty Italian food and leave themselves full and satisfied.

The restaurant is celebrating its 40 year anniversery and has several events inside the restaurant that will attract all sorts of members from the community. They are featuring wine tasting nights, meatball eating competitions for kids, and literally something new every day of the week to bring in a new crowd.

The restaurant has been popular for some time now, as my mother told me that she used to go on dates in college to what they used to refer to as "A & V's." The back door of the restaurant gives you a view of the where everything is prepared in the kitchen. Some of the favorites include New York style pizza, Woppo's Sub sandwhich, the spaghetti meal, and Italian donuts.

Everybody should experience the inside of the restaurant and the back door experience, which is cheaper and quicker.

Gladiators on the Streets: Live Post

I should be more careful where I walk on a Saturday night.

My brother, his friend, and I are walking back from his birthday celebration at a local restaurant near the train tracks. The patrons walking from bar to bar downtown are becoming more visibly drunk and more obviously beligerent. As we walk past a group of men, one goes out of his way and bumps into me with his shoulder. He turns around and yells, "was it your fault or my fault?"

Now I am telling the drunk man that there is no problem, just so he does not pick a fight. As we walk in front of one of the main bars a fight spills out onto the sidewalk and two men try to land a blow on eachother's face. One of the fighters is pushed towards his girlfriend and knocks her to the floor. Before anything else can happen, to undercover police officers jump out of an undercover car and start breaking the fight up.

This is what you get when every weekend the bars in town attract the low-lifes that have nothing better to do than get in a drunken brawl.
